My Craft Room

Hello Everyone!
I almost have my craft room together.  It's not all done cause I still have some things I want to hang on the wall and some touch up painting.  I wanted to share what it looks like right now which I really like so far.  I will take so better ones once I get things on the way and do some more picking up.  I have been make decorations for the kids school and Halloween treats this week.

Next on my list is to get another one of these wooden shelf to hold the rest of my plastic containers.   Right now it so much more organized and easier to find my things.  I love how Ikea had the same color of purple bins as my wall.  How perfect is that!!

My desk/table!!
I'm still working on how I want to put my things on my desk.  But I have so much more room!

Ok more pictures to come later!

Disney Blog Hop for Rett Syndrome Awareness

Click here for the HIMCR for the weekly challenge.

Welcome to the First Annual Blog Hop for...

Rett Syndrome Awareness

Your first stop should have been at Robin Lane's Blog, if you did not start there please go back to the beginning...

What is Rett Syndrome? Rett Syndrome is a devastating neurologic developmental disorder that occurs almost exclusively in girls. It is usually caused by a mutation of the MECP2 gene on the X chromosome. Rett Syndrome is found in all racial and ethnic groups throughout the world, and in every socioeconomic class. Rett Syndrome affects 1 in 15,000 female births.

Early developmental milestones appear normal, but between 6-18 months of age, there is a delay or regression in development, particularly affecting speech, hand skills and coordination. A hallmark of Rett Syndrome is the repetitive hand movements that may include seizures, irregular breathing, swallowing difficulties, and curvature of the spine. Many individuals with Rett Syndrome live well into adulthood.
There is currently no cure.

I had so many ideas for the blog hop but decide on making a layout for my friend son's scrapbook.  He was in Alice and Wonderland Musical while back.  She picked out the title and the characters she like for the layout.  I made them both at 4"  from The Disney Classic Cartridge.

HIMCR #69 Mix It Up!

Hello Everyone!  I was able to get in some crafting this week and I hope to post pictures of my craft room real soon!  I just wanted to wait till we got  all the boxes out of the room.  Since I share it with my kids and husband it has taken us a while to put it all back together.
Hopefully the pictures will be coming real soon!!

This week at HIMCR the challenge is Mix It Up Thankful or Thanksgiving Themed.  I made my card using a Giving Thanks digi created by Naomi at Creative Bug on the Loose.
I used my water color pencil to color in the image and then added the digi on top of my card that has a fence border cut out from the Rustic Fence Cartridge  for the Creative Memories Border Maker System.   I had some extra leaves from a past project I made and add them to also.
Now it's time to head over to HIMCR to check out the rest of the Design Team Creations for the week and enter the challenge!

You're a Hoot!

I'm loving my new stamp set!  I can't remember how many cards I have made with it now.  But it so much fun!  I made a chap stick card and stamped the Owl sitting on top of the pumpkin and stamp You're a Hoot!  I used my water color pencil to color in and give it a little bit of color.  Then added some baker's twine to close it.

Happy Holidays

Good Morning!
I have had this on my to do list for weeks but keeping running out of time to color my digi.  I got it finished Saturday night!!  I wanted to take my picture outside but every time I got ready to go outside to take it yesterday it would start to rain.  So I gave up and went for the light box this morning.  I love coloring Heather's Digi from Fresh Brewed!!  This is her newest Christmas house.  I hope you like it as much as I do!
I used my Creative Memories Cutting System to cut the digi and background paper out in circles.  Added some clear glitter on the roof and ground.

I have seen this done before but never tried it till the today!!  I had alot of fun trying out the embossing on a soda can.  I used the Mark's Finest Papers Stamp Set Autumn Splender to emboss on the can and stamp Fall on the side of the card.  I can't wait to try this again with some Christmas Cards.

Thankful Card

I had so much fun making the card for the Guest Designer for Crafter's Companion this month that I decided to try this technique out in fall colors using the same stamp set Paint Fusion EZ Mount Poppies Stamp Set.  This time I decide to just use the leaf stamp in the set and it made a cute fall card.  If you missed the post with the video I did a few weeks ago here is the link to it and it shows you how to make this card.

HIMCR #68 Technique

I'm so happy it's Saturday!  It has been a busy week around our house.   I'm glad to spend the day  around the house  and finish up some things and get my house cleaned up.  I'm going to my friend's Pampered Chef party tonight.  We haven't seen each other in awhile and since we both have jobs this school year it's been hard to meet up.
This week challenge at HIMCR is Technique use a Die Cut.  I thought this die cut was so cute and was perfect for a friend's birthday.  I used the My Creative Time Coffee Break Stamp Set  and all the paper was from my scrap box! I used this set the last time AJ and I crafted together so it's on my wish list.

Now it's time to head over to HIMCR to check out the rest of the Design Team Creations for the week and enter the challenge!

Have a good weekend!!

Happy, happy Birthday to you. . .

Yesterday I was able to get 2 birthday cards made!  I just ran out of time to post it yesterday.  One of my son's teachers is having a birthday next week so I wanted to send him a card and a little treat for helping my little man out.
I saw a challenge over at Mark's Finest Papers that gave me an idea for my card.  The challenge is taking Inspiration from a photo.  So over the last few weeks I have been taking pictures of the progress of my craft room.  So my to make a tool card was perfect!!  We have been taking things apart, painting, and putting new things together.

My first Waterfall card

I'm so proud of myself for doing one of the cards on my list to try!!  I think that waterfall cards are so cool but never sat down and tried it till today.  It was so easy after I figured it out.   My friend's birthday is next week and I wanted to make her a special card.  I love love this cupcake paper and stamp set!!  I took lots of pictures of this card so you could see all the images on it.

I used a regular size card 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 and covered the front with my cupcake paper.
Then I cut a strip of pink card stock at 2x9 and scored it at 2", 2 3/4", 3 1/2", and 4 1/4" and bend on your score lines.  Also cut 4 2x2 squares.
Cut a piece of cardstock in kraft 3/4x4 1/4 to attach across the front.
4 white squares 1 7/8 x 1 7/8 to stamp on and attached to the pink 2x2 squares.
You can also check out the tutorial at MFP Speedy TV and see the step by step instruction on how to make this card.

A Little Birdie told me... it's your birthday

I'm trying really hard to get caught up on cards for my friends and family birthday for the rest of the year.  Then hopefully I will get busy on next year after that.  This morning I made this cute little birdie card for my friend.  I used the CTMH Life is Tweet stamp set.  The card base was a bland card I had in my card box that I discovered over the weekend.  I decide it would be cute to use w wiggle ear for the birdie.  It's a perfect card for a fall birthday!

Birthday Gift

Good Morning!
I wanted to share with you the gift that I made for my friend's birthday yesterday.  She is such a great friend!!  We meet when my daughter and her son went to preschool together.
I can't believe they are now in 4th grade!

So while I was unpacking some of my scrapbooking supplies the other night I had an idea pop in my head.  I found some old CD's  and some cool paper that I forgot about having.    I used my Creative Memories Custom Cutting System to cut circles out of my pattern paper to glue to the CD's.  Then I cut out Family form the Country Life Cartridge and the flowers from CTMH Art Philosophy Cartridge to go on the front.  After I had put my cricut things away I decide I need some leaves for the flowers.   So I decide to see what it would look like to use my CM Paisley Punch to make leaves. Then I just cut out some little photo mats and embossed them for the inside and tag. These little albums are so fun to make and you are recycling too!!

Then to go along with the album I found this big clothes pin at Michael's on Monday and didn't really like the print on it.  So I thought well I can cover this to match the album and make it nice.  I used the scraps from the front of the album to cover it.  Then I cut out 2 flowers from the CTMH Art Philosophy Cartridge and some more Paisley for leaves and some ribbon!
I will be posting the card I made to go with her gift on Monday and teaching how I made it for my Guest Design Team project for Crafter's Companion.  I hope that you stop back by to see it!!
Thanks for stopping by and checking out my latest project!

My Friend

I'm so proud of myself 2 cards made today and posted the same day!!  I made this card to give to my friend AJ along with some yummy cake pops.  She going  away for awhile so I wanted her to know how much I will miss her.

I'm going to enter this in MFP Sketch with a Twist challenge.   I used My Creative Time die from Just Simply Live set.  The leaves stamps are from a set that I found today and rubbed new chalking inks from Creative memories over the leaves and the edges of the die and card.  It looks like I embossed them but it was how the paper is made.

Now I'm off to do some more unpacking in my craftroom!

Friends

I decided to take a break from unpacking my craft room today and make some cards.  I found this Friends stamp I got a few months ago and used my Tim Holtz Distress Stain.

I used the peeled paint distress stain right on the card and then stamp over it with Weather Backgrounds from CMTH.  I used my Creative Memories Paper Edger to go around the edge of my paper.  The top one was stamped with the friends stamp and rubbed vintage photo distress stain over it.  The other piece I rubbed both the peeled paint and vintage photo over the craft cardstock.  I used die from My Creative Time and stamp for the Best Friends.   I'm so happy with the way my card turned out.  I'm going to enter it over at MFP Speedy TV.
