Birthday Gift

Good Morning!
I wanted to share with you the gift that I made for my friend's birthday yesterday.  She is such a great friend!!  We meet when my daughter and her son went to preschool together.
I can't believe they are now in 4th grade!

So while I was unpacking some of my scrapbooking supplies the other night I had an idea pop in my head.  I found some old CD's  and some cool paper that I forgot about having.    I used my Creative Memories Custom Cutting System to cut circles out of my pattern paper to glue to the CD's.  Then I cut out Family form the Country Life Cartridge and the flowers from CTMH Art Philosophy Cartridge to go on the front.  After I had put my cricut things away I decide I need some leaves for the flowers.   So I decide to see what it would look like to use my CM Paisley Punch to make leaves. Then I just cut out some little photo mats and embossed them for the inside and tag. These little albums are so fun to make and you are recycling too!!

Then to go along with the album I found this big clothes pin at Michael's on Monday and didn't really like the print on it.  So I thought well I can cover this to match the album and make it nice.  I used the scraps from the front of the album to cover it.  Then I cut out 2 flowers from the CTMH Art Philosophy Cartridge and some more Paisley for leaves and some ribbon!
I will be posting the card I made to go with her gift on Monday and teaching how I made it for my Guest Design Team project for Crafter's Companion.  I hope that you stop back by to see it!!
Thanks for stopping by and checking out my latest project!

Canvas for my Living Room

Hello Everyone!
I wanted to post pictures of the four canvas I recently painted and alter for my living room wall.  It took me forever to decide on what pictures I was going to use on them.  Months ago my friend bought me the big canvas and then I decide it would be cool to do one for each of  the kids.  Well then I found the one that I thought would look good below the main canvas.  So I thought that would be prefect for a canvas of my husband and me together.  Then I had to decide on the colors which I knew one was going to be purple for sure.  Purple is my favorite color!!!  Then we decide to go with brown for the others cause it matched the walls right now.  Then later I'm going to paint the walls a different color but it will still match the color I have picked out for the walls.

I'm so happy with my wall now!  Well even happy when the walls get painted!

I almost forgot to tell you about the family chipboard cut out I painted.  The original plan was to cut out Family in vinyl till my friend was at Hobby Lobby and found the chipboard.  I painted it and add some green polka dots on it and some pretty purple ribbon!

Polka dot Chapstick Card

Hello Everyone!
I just finished up my item for my Mixed Media Swap that I do every month.  This month I decided to make these cute little Polka Dot Chapstick Card holders and it's also all about polka dots this week at CAS-ual Fridays.

I had enough of this green polka dot paper in my scrap box from a swap I did a few years ago.  So I'm not sure who made this paper but I love it.  The card is a cut from my Silhouette Cameo.  Then I cut out flowers from my CTMH cricut cartridge and the hearts are from my Creative Memories punch.  I'm so happy that I made everything from my scrapbox!!

Hope you have a great weekend!!

Mother's Day Canvas

Hope everyone had a great Mother's Day!  My kids and husband made me breakfast, we took some new pictures, did some shopping, and out to eat dinner.  We also planted a couple of flowers they bought me.

I made this canvas for the kids to give their Oma for Mother's Day!  Our family all lives in IL so over the last 9 years she has become like a Mom to me and a grandma to my kids.  I don't know what I would do without her and the kids love her so much!

These are the new pictures I took of my babies yesterday.  I can't believe my baby girl will be 9 tomorrow and Friday my Little Man will be 7.

#44 Mix It Up-Mother's Day theme

I can't believe it's Saturday!  This has been a busy week for us.  I did manage get some scrapbooking time in between everything that was going on.

This week challenge at HIMCR is Mix It Up!  It's a Mother's Day Themed Project.  I decide to decorate a canvas that my husband bought me at Ross a few months ago.  I thought it would be a nice Mother's Day gift and I had so much fun with all these pretty flowers last week that I made some more.  My canvas is all ready for a picture.  I just can't decide on a picture yet.

I used an 8x10 Canvas and painted it purple.
Cut out Love from Storybook cartridge in Brown
cardstock from my scrapbook.
Used Purple Core'dinations paper to make a mat for 5x7 picture and emboss it with a Lovely flourish texture plate
I cut 10 different flowers our of white cardstock from
CTMH art philosophy cartridge and stamped and ink them with purple and brown.  I also cut out 3 leaves out from this cartridge too.

#43 HIMCR April Showers bring. . . . .

Good Morning!  I have found a new time to scrapbook now.  My husband started his new job this week so I have been getting up early with him.  So I thought why not just stay up and craft while it's quiet.

I had so much fun working on the challenge this week!!  This week is April Showers bring........

Homemade flowers!! You can make your flowers with punches, cutting out stamped images, with die cuts from dies or a cutting machine. Use your imagination! I can't wait to see all the beautiful flowers you all create!

I was going to make a card and then thought why not make a frame!!  I will be hanging this over my desk once I paint and redecorate my craft room!!

I used a frame from Michaels and painted it purple.  I wanted a darker shade but it worked out good cause I hope to paint my walls a dark purple.
I cut out Family from Home Accents (family is cut at 1.25")
I cut all the flowers  and leaves from CTMH Art Philosophy
All the papers came from my scrap box.

The Design team has some Great creations also so be sure to check them out!

Thank you gifts

This is my 3rd year designing the yearbook for my kids school.  It's a huge project that is alot of fun but has it's moments when it can be stressful.  I would have never got it done this  without the help of the librarian and library cleark. They collected pictures for me which made my job so much easier.  So as a thank you for all their help I made these cute little gifts to give them.

Later I will post the gift I made for my other helper.  I could have never made it 3 years without her help!!  She handles all the orders and supports with whatever help I need taking pictures, checking the pages, and listen to me vent when I get stressed!!

School Bulletin Board

I have made lots of projects over the last few weeks but have just been so busy that I could get them posted.  So over the next few days my goal is to get them posted.  I had to share the bulletin board I made my kids school first.  I love how it turned out and it was so fun making it!  The best part was when I took it to school my son's class came up and was telling me who each one of the kids looked like in their class.
